Why Your Website is a Critical Part of Your Social Media Marketing

We hear day in and day out how important social media is in our marketing plan. For many of us, posting on social media is second nature. And for many, posting on social media is something still to learn.

Let’s be honest. Social media is critical in your online marketing plan. In real estate, for instance, according to Paveya.com, 90% of
home-buyers have during their home search. This is a pretty remarkable statistic simply for the fact that this is a five year old statistic. Today, I suspect that number is closer to 100%.

So what does that mean in terms of your real estate marketing? Let’s explore a few thoughts.

· Buyers are not simply looking for homes to buy.

· They are also looking for ideas, neighborhoods, cities, a realtor to represent them, financing information, neighborhood information, credit information, knowing the right time to buy, first time homebuyers info.

· Etc. etc.

So as that is sinking in, utilizing your social media can help with the home buying process. You can post images and graphics and discuss the info they are looking for.

You can also help sellers as well with a different list of needs.

But the Real Question is:

Where are you going to house this information? How are you going to give them the answers they’re looking for right now?

Once you post it on social media, it is one and done, for the most part, depending on the site you are using or the hashtag.

That is where your website comes into play.

Why Your Website is a Critical Part of Your Social Media Marketing

Using a website in connection with your social media accounts is a key piece in your conversion of your buyer or seller.  When someone connects with you on your social media, and they want to read that piece of information you posted, are you sending them to someone else’s website?

Or are you sending them to your own website where you can hopefully convert them into joining your email list.

By having them join your email list, you can then begin the process of connecting and engaging in the sale process down the road. If you have been to one of our, you heard me talk about the marketing funnel. I also wrote an article about why you need to in your real estate business, which you can also check out.

Your website is a valuable piece of your real estate marketing portfolio along with your social media posting. You have all of the tools between these two pieces to develop and craft marketing articles and graphics that will target your perfect clients.

Here is an example that a few people utilize in the real estate profession.

Did you know that Pinterest is a huge search engine? Did you know that you can be developing your business by using custom graphics and key, evergreen articles that can link directly back to your website? Especially if you are working in a large market. A perfect example is Atlanta, New York, San Francisco, etc. Go to Pinterest and do a search for “real estate Atlanta” and see what you find. Or choose any market…

This is an amazing tool that drives a huge amount of traffic to your website where you should have your landing page with the email and sign up box, along with a free offer (a pdf download of pertinent, valuable information) that leads them into

If you’re not using social media and your website combined, you are missing a lot of potential clients. Think about that and how you can improve the usage of both and then get out your pen and paper to plan on your move forward.
