Tips for Developing Your Social Media Goals

It is one thing to have a social media account for your business but it's another thing to utilize it in the proper manner for the benefit to your business.

If you have been working on developing your business online through your website, then I am sure you understand how important it is to include your social media in your goals too.

Knowing what you are looking for in your social media usage is an important factor before you get started with developing your posts. Or perhaps you want to change your message and tactics.  Here are some tips to think about and use.

What Are Your Goals?

Measuring your responses are going to help you when you're working on your goals. For instance, most people are looking to either generate an increase traffic to your website or they may want to increase subscribers are followers to that social media site.

You may also want to increase your interaction with your customers and followers through comments, replies, shares, etc.

Maybe you may actually be looking to increase and drive sales through your social media function.

Create Specific Content for Your Goal

Create content that is engaging to your specific customer and followers with your goal in mind. Ask for the sale, the sign up, the click through – whatever you are looking for in that post.

Make sure that you engage in it as well. If they ask or make comments specifically to you, respond and converse with them.

Develop Your Account for More Followers and Engagement

Be consistent on your posting. Post several times a day on each account that you have, be it Twitter, Facebook, Instagram etc. If you can't do it several times a day, at least be consistent when you do post. Don't go for chunks of time and not post anything. Not only will the algorithms of those accounts show your inconsistency but your reach to those followers will be greatly reduced.Use Google Analytics to track your follow through with your social media, especially with Twitter and Facebook where you're able to use direct links to your site in your postings. You can see how your followers interact directly in your website for better development in the long run.Use your content in multiple ways. If you've written blog posts, you can share them through images, of course, but you can also include them on YouTube as a video. Start your own channel and convert some of your articles into video.

Keep your long term goal in mind when developing the content for your social media. Social media is a wonderful tool that will help your business if it is used properly and consistently.
